Our Crew

Tom and Lisa Taylor

Tom and Lisa Taylor have owned and operated South Shore Marina since 1985. Lisa takes care of the books and feeds the crew! Tom actually started at South Shore Marina in 1971. He attended his first service school in 1974. For over twenty years Tom has been consistently rated the top outboard mechanic in southwestern Ohio. Tom introduced boat sales to the business in 1992 and sold four boats that first year! Tom now concentrates his efforts in the Service Department training the other technicians and doing advanced troubleshooting.

Chad Taylor, VP/General Manager

Chad Taylor has worked at South Shore Marina for as long as he can remember. The son of Tom and Lisa Taylor, Chad started his career working during the summer on the dock at the Marina. Chad continued to work at the family Marina throughout his high school years and while on breaks from college. He also joined the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve in July of 2000 and still serves in the reserves. Chad has been away from the Marina only for the two years he spent working in the auto industry and for the time required to serve on active duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Liberty Shield/Enduring Freedom. Chad now coordinates boat sales for the Marina. Chad serves on several Marine Industry Panels and was recently appointed by Gov. Ted Strikland to the Ohio Waterways Safety Council. He has also earned honors as a Top Ten Lowe Boats salesperson, and was nominated by Boating Industry Magazine as being one of the Top 35 Young Industry Leaders under the age of 40. When not in his office, He is active in the American Legion where he serves as several post officers and district officers. Chad enjoys boating, muskie fishing, spending time with his daughter, Jenna, and riding his Harley-Davidson.

Nate Gray, Marine Technician

Nate began his career at South Shore Marina in March of 2002. Nate is a Certified Welder as well. Nate married Casey Peters, a cousin of the Taylor Family. They have three children. When Nate is not at work, it is guaranteed he is either in the woods hunting deer or turkey, or he is getting ready for the hunting season!

Mike Renshaw, Rigging Captain

Mike began working at South Shore Marina in 2002. Mike handles all of our new boat rigging work. He is also very experienced with electronics. Mike is married with two children. He enjoys hunting, fishing and is also a registered weather spotter!

R. Patrick "Pat" Richter, Sales Consultant

Pat has been working boat shows and special events for South Shore Marina for over ten years. He also helps with Marina publications and editing tasks. Pat, a retired school counselor, lives with his wife in Dayton, Ohio. An avid angler for a variety of species, Pat is a member of the South Shore Marina Fishing Team and is on Evinrude's Pro Team list. Pat enjoys spending time on the water with his family (four children/five grandchildren) and friends!

Ron Meyer

Ron has been around South Shore Marina for--we're not really sure how long--we just know it is long! Words can not express the amount of work Ron does for us! Most people know him as the "Tour Boat Captain" from the days of the Cowan Lake Pontoon Tours. Ron is an avid angler. He is retired from International Paper and currently works part time for the City of Wilmington. If you're looking for Ron, he is usually hanging out at South Shore or on Cowan Lake.

Ray "Ray-Boo" Peters

Ray has been at South Shore Marina for over 20 years. Ray works the front counter at the Marina on weekends and holidays. Ray-Boo's other nickname is the Jolly Green Giant. Ray is the kind of guy who will wreck his car swerving to avoid a bird! An avid football fan, Ray also enjoys computers and spending time with his grandkids. And what a cook!

Sherry Hedberg

Sherry works the front counter at the Marina during the week. Sherry handles boat rental and bait shop duties for the Marina. Anything you need, just ask her! Sherry has been employed at South Shore for three years.
